Weather is awesome. I’m in the mood — bad.

And work wants me to go to a basketball thing.

  1. Bummer. If you have an hour or so to squeeze in a ride, call me. If not, we’ll find another day to ride.

  2. bummer indeed.

for my ride today, I’m loading the two youngest kids into the burley trailer and hitting the jordan river parkway and then jetting out to the Jazz/Lakers practice for a work assignment.

Why does life always get in the way of me having fun?

  3. Two years ago, I rode my bike only five times between December and April (all five times were during the week I spent in LA for Christmas). I spent the rest of the winter of the winter skiing at Sundance and playing basketball. Lots of basketball. It took me a month to get my cycling legs back, and then I had my best season ever.

The moral of the story is that basketball is good. Unfortunately, I don’t think you can expect the same results as a spectator, but I could be wrong.

  4. My problem is I might not even have the legs to get back.

I’m not complaining about not being able to get some training in, though. I just have a serious jones to get on a bike and ride. I miss it.

spring break — and my 13-year-old daughter/babysitter — is next week. I plan on at least 50 mile rides one six different occasions with hopefully two 100 mile rides. I just plain miss riding.

That and my kids/work are driving me crazy.

  5. I commuted today. I just about died, I’m so out of shape.

  6. I commuted, too. Problem is I often work at a desk in my bedroom.
